The editing process is not a one-time consult, but an ongoing exchange of feedback and revision. After an intensely focused reading, a written evaluation/critique is provided. From there, we work through marginal commentary, (written on hard copy or transmitted through Track Changes), and editorial letters and email exchanges. I also think it is important to have periodic conferences to discuss revisions (on the phone, or face-to-face when possible). I review revisions until we are both satisfied that the work is ready for submission.
My goal is to provide sensitive yet critical feedback that helps you envision the next draft and energizes you to get there. Along the way, I am happy to answer any questions, address any concerns, and provide instruction or readings if appropriate.
Alexis Rizzuto offers a free initial consultation and reading of up to ten pages. The hourly rate of $65 is somewhat negotiable based on project evaluation.
